Great place to stay after travelling on the Bernina Express. Very close to the train station. Had dinner at the restaurant on the corner, sitting on the street, was very nice. Enjoyed a walk around the town and to the Basilica.

This is such a quaint little village with unexpected...
This is such a quaint little village with unexpected treasures. The local church is amazing and we could have spent alot more time seeing it. We walked to the old town and loved every minute seeing the old charm. The best part is that this is not a touristy place so we never felt crowded. Wednesdays in April are not good when wanting a decent evening meal, very little choice but Friday night much better as everyone was open. Merizzi by the station on the corner of the main road does fantastic good.

We enjoyed wandering around the older parts of town. The cathedral was beautiful and open to view inside. The entire town is walkable, no need to hire a car. There was a variety of places to eat and drink. The location of the train station made it easy to come and go.

Tirano is a very nice town.
Tirano is a very nice town. It is very well connected with other parts of Italy by train. Also, the main attraction is the Bernina Express, which departs hourly from the Swiss Train Station, which is opposite the TrenItalia train station. What a gorgeous little town right by the rushing river.
What a gorgeous little town right by the rushing river. Fascinating buildings and great food ( had a great pizza at LETI DI PILONI AXEL by the station. Only stayed overnight after coming from Chur on the Bernina line then on to Rome but could easily have spent a week here. Everything walkable.

A friendly gentleman from the reception of Hotel Bernina took us to the place and showed us our room. We would probably have difficulty finding it ourselves (google maps showed a nearby pizzeria with a similar name).
